For Logistics

Asset management for logistics, fleet and warehouse operations.

Vehicles, trailers, forklifts, scanners, racking, pallets and the IT that runs the depot — tracked from one register with handover signatures, condition photos and per-category depreciation.

What logistics asset registers actually have to do

Logistics operations carry asset mixes that don't fit a normal ITAM tool: a yard of vehicles and trailers, a fleet of forklifts and reach trucks, a warehouse of scanners and printers, a depot of IT, and a thousand small fixtures that get moved, damaged and replaced. The register has to handle all of it without forcing every asset class through the same form.

AssetTrack's category-first design fits this naturally. Each asset class has its own fields (VIN for vehicles, lift capacity for forklifts, asset tag for scanners), its own useful life and depreciation schedule, and its own audit cadence — but they all live in one register, one mobile app, one chain-of-custody log.

The capabilities that matter most here

  • Vehicle and trailer inventory with VIN, registration, insurance and roadworthy fields
  • Forklift and material-handling equipment with operator-licence tracking
  • Scanner and handheld assignment with shift-by-shift signed handover
  • Depot IT: laptops, label printers, pick-by-voice headsets — same register
  • Mobile audits in the yard and warehouse, offline-capable for low-signal zones
  • GPS-stamped handovers for assets that leave the depot with drivers or field crews

Common scenarios

  • Shift handover: driver signs for the truck, scanner and keys at the start of shift; returns at end with condition note
  • Yard audit: walk the yard with the phone, scan vehicle and trailer tags, capture damage photos
  • Operator licensing: track operator licence expiry per piece of equipment, alert before expiry
  • Damage claim: chain-of-custody log proves who signed for the asset and in what condition before the damage
  • Replacement planning: forklift fleet replacement schedule based on actual end-of-life, not flat spreadsheet assumption

Frequently asked questions

Does AssetTrack handle vehicles and fleet?

Yes. Vehicles are a category with VIN, registration, insurance and roadworthy fields. Operator assignment uses the same chain-of-custody pattern as IT devices. Tracker hardware references can be stored on the asset record for integration with fleet tracking providers.

Will the mobile app work in the warehouse with poor signal?

Yes. The PWA works offline; audit scans, signatures and photos queue locally and sync when the device sees the network.

Can I track operator licences alongside the equipment?

Yes. Operator-licence fields on the asset (or on the employee record) drive expiry alerts so a forklift isn't assigned to an operator whose licence has lapsed.

Does it integrate with fleet telematics?

Tracker provider, device ID and last-known coordinate are stored on the asset record for cross-reference. Native integrations with leading fleet telematics providers are on the integrations roadmap.
